The MUCH anticipated opening of Alliance Brewing Company happened on August 21st! I was thrilled to be a part of the “soft” opening. When I heard about it I made sure to sneak out of work a little early and we headed over soon after the doors opened at 4:00. There was already a good sized crowd when we arrived and I was happy to see the bus for Knox Brew Tours sitting in the parking lot. Apparently they heard about it just a few minutes before and Zack stopped by Saw Works Brewing and picked up the crew and came flying around the corner at 4:00. It was nice to see many of the Saw Works people there supporting the newest brewey in Knoxville.
I started off with Buffalo Sweat Oatmeal Cream Stout by Tallgrass Brewing Company. It was smooth and easy to drink. We ended up staying longer than planned because everyone we knew kept arriving so, I of course, had to chat with everyone. Later in the evening the place was full, there was lots of energy and you could feel the excitement from everyone. They currently have guest taps but should be serving their own beer within the next few weeks. I can’t wait to see the crowd then.
We got up Saturday morning, took the dog for a haircut and grabbed a late lunch. We went back over to Alliance for a couple of hours before meeting some friends later. I love the big windows and all of the light in the space. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual. There were lots of families with small children and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.
